One story, just weeks ago in Ngozi, Burundi, reminded us exactly why this mission matters so much.
During an outreach at a local high school, a student told our team that her classmate was pregnant and planning an abortion. Terrified and feeling completely alone, she spoke a with local pharmacist about obtaining the abortion pills. He promised to give her them, but she didn’t have the money. At the very moment of our outreach, she was in the process of trying to get the money for the abortion pills.
One story that truly broke my heart—but also reminded me why we keep going—came from northern Nigeria just this week.
A local farmer in Kebbi state noticed something odd in his field. As he and others dug into the soil, they uncovered a newborn baby, wrapped in a cloth, crying and buried alive!
