Headed to India!
Dear Friend,
I know it’s late, but I’m dropping you a note because one of our team members, Kainey, just caught a flight to India.
Ever since our first mission trip to India in 2023, it’s been a challenge to establish long lasting LIFE Teams in the nation. Estimates predict over 15 million little boys and girls are killed by abortion each year in India, but nearly no one is willing to talk about it or get involved. India has a population of over 1.4 billion people and is now the most populous country in the world. Despite this, there are deeply rooted cultural beliefs and systems in place which create significant disparities within the population. In addition, there is a strong gender-based hierarchy. A cultural preference for male children leads to thousands of gender-selective abortions and has resulted in a significant imbalance in the male-to-female population ratio.
Add to all of this the increasing persecution Christians are experiencing in India – it’s no wonder it’s hard to find someone willing to take a risk to speak about the inherent value of human life.
Having grown up in India, Kainey knows firsthand the devastating effects of India’s culture. She studied medicine in China during the one-child policy and later worked at a pregnancy center in the U.S. before volunteering with Pro-Life Global.
Today starts a two-and-a-half week trip during which Kainey will be traveling to five states in northern India, where the issue of abortion is especially unaddressed in churches. In each area, she will equip local Christian leaders to educate on the value of human life and how to practically save lives. The goal is to form sustainable teams of believers who will carry on the lifesaving mission in their communities.
To make this mission possible, we need:
1) Prayer: In some of the areas where Kainey will be going Christians have recently been sent to jail for publicly distributing books containing the gospel. Pray for protection and for God to open doors that will produce long-lasting fruit.
2) Funds: the mission trip will cost about $3,000. Here’s just some of the direct costs:
– Flight to and from India: $1,612.29
– Flights, trains, and Ubers within the country: $500
– Educational materials: $250
– Food: $200
To help make this mission in India possible, give below or write a check out to Pro-Life Global and write “India” in the memo. Mail checks to: PO Box 11222, Columbia, SC 29211.
Thank you for your prayers, generosity, and partnership to raise up lifesavers.
