Sewing Seeds in Burundi
One woman, Nadège, came to Bujumbura, Burundi in search of work. Unfortunately, she had become pregnant by a man who later disappeared and has remained absent to this day.
Through this support, Nadège was enrolled in a tailoring workshop where she trained and worked for nearly two years. This experience enabled her to gain professional skills, rebuild her confidence, and become self-reliant.
Today, after two years of working as part of a team in Bujumbura, Nadège has returned to her home village with her own sewing machine, a symbol of her independence and the new beginning she has built for herself. She has decided to work alongside the youth in her community so that they do not fall into the same hardships she once experienced.
