Shortly after getting married in February, my husband and I found out we were pregnant with a little girl! We are thrilled to welcome her into the world in just a few weeks.Â
After nine years of working full-time in the Pro-Life Movement, it feels deeply personal to see my own baby on ultrasound, to feel her kick, and to experience all the emotional highs and lows of pregnancy. This journey has shown me even more clearly why our work to support moms in unexpected pregnancies is so vital.
Although I’ve been blessed with a really good pregnancy overall, there have still been days. Days when I would drop things on the floor and simply didn’t have the emotional bandwidth to clean them up. Days when nausea made it impossible to know what I wanted to eat. Days when I couldn’t help but just cry. And even days when all I felt capable of doing was sleeping.
I’ve been so grateful to have my husband walking with me through this journey, along with a wonderfully supportive community of friends, fellow believers, and family. And above all, I have Jesus, on whom I can cast my cares each day and sense His reassurance that everything will be alright.
I can hardly imagine how overwhelming pregnancy must be for a mom without any of these supports—no caring husband, no family or friends to lean on, and not even a relationship with Christ.
That’s why Pro-Life Global’s mission means so much to me — and to thousands of young people around the world. We’re equipping and mobilizing youth to be that loving, supportive presence for moms in crisis — to walk with them, to speak life, and to show them the tangible love of Jesus.
