ARIELLA’S STORY:

Ngozi LIFE Team Outreach

During an outreach event at EALI University in Ngozi this November, one of our LIFE Team volunteers met Ariella, a student who had just discovered she was two months pregnant. Overwhelmed by fear of losing her academic year and feeling completely alone, she was considering abortion.

In the midst of deep uncertainty and fear, Ariella found compassion. She was connected to support, where she received counseling, reassurance, and safe follow-up care. Through this guidance, she was able to reflect on her situation calmly and make an informed decision, which she felt at peace about.

VANESSA’S STORY:

Rohero LIFE Team Outreach

During another outreach in Rohero, volunteers met Vanessa, a 22-year-old shop assistant who was visibly distressed. After a gentle conversation, she opened up about her fear of being pregnant. With her permission, the team helped her access a pregnancy test, which confirmed she was two months along.

Terrified of losing her job and disappointing her parents, Vanessa had planned to seek an unsafe abortion. But our LIFE Team stepped into the gap and helped her receive confidential counseling, helping her realize abortion was not her only option.

Feeling supported and no longer alone, Vanessa chose to continue her pregnancy. Together with our LIFE Team, they created a plan that allowed her to continue working while receiving help throughout her pregnancy.

These stories remind us… that with your support, every outreach, every trained volunteer, and every moment of compassion not only SAVES LIVES but also mends families back together and helps create a stronger community.
